The first Aber InterPol Student EH Carr Conference took place in April 2013. Its topic was ‘Water Cooperation’ and it was organised by a team of then third year undergraduates. I was one of the invited speakers and gave a brief paper with the title ‘Water in International Relations’. From the perspective of a speaker, I must say that the conference was impeccably organised. Everything went well; there were plenty of coffee breaks in which one could chat with other participants and find new contacts, as I did; a good lunch to keep us all going in the afternoon; and – most importantly – a string of excellent papers by the Department’s undergraduates. I enjoyed those a lot and was very proud of especially the first year students who were as good as anyone else.
